Coming Out Later in Life
Online therapy for adults in Texas, Colorado, and Michigan who are figuring out who they are, now.
Maybe you built a life that looked right from the outside: a marriage, kids, a career, a community. And somewhere along the way, a quiet question got louder. Who am I, really? What do I want?
Coming out later in life can bring relief, fear, excitement, and grief all at once. There's no deadline for figuring out who you are, and there's no wrong age to start living more honestly.
You Might Be
Realizing you're gay, lesbian, bi, pan, queer, or somewhere else you don't have a word for yet
Questioning your gender, or ready to explore transition
Married or partnered and unsure what this means for your relationship
Worried about telling your kids, parents, or faith community
Grieving the years you spent not knowing, or not being able to say it
Dating as your true self for the first time and feeling like a teenager again
How I can help
We'll make space for all of it, the excitement and the grief, without rushing you toward any particular outcome. You set the pace. Some people come out to everyone within months. Others take years, or choose to stay private in some parts of their lives. Both are valid.
Together we can work through what you're feeling, practice hard conversations before you have them, and sort out what you want your relationships to look like now. If you're navigating separation, we can also untangle the practical and emotional sides of that change.
As a queer therapist, I know this terrain, and you won't have to explain the basics to me. I bring curiosity, humor, and care, and we move at the speed of trust.
Group support
Sometimes it helps to be around others who get it. I run a virtual process group for trans women and trans femmes, and a divorce and separation support group that is LGBTQ+ affirming.
Let’s Talk
You don't need to have your identity figured out or know what comes next. Let's start with a free consultation, just a quick, no pressure chat to see if we're a good fit.
